Arcady's Epiphany by tigaer Arcady's Epiphany by tigaer
Arcady, very early on, showed a huge fascination with all kinds of adventure stories. The traditional heroes and their bold undertakings to rescue a damsel in distress. Soon enough she started to think about becoming an author herself. "Someday, when I'm grown up!" She used to say. On her 12th birthday morning, her father decided to take her out into the field. Arcady had no idea what her father had in mind, but she saw him smile and his eyes shine bright like a star. "A place that always made me imagine my own adventures!", he said. "Something inspirational!" Arcady could not resist, smiled at her dad and made herself ready for the trip. A quick breakfast and some words Arcady will never forget, when her dad said, "Time to write your own stories, darling!".

This one was done for the 20th Exhibit of the Luminarium artgroup, created between October and December last year. The topic was 'Adventure' and I immediately had some ideas in my head.

More specific info and wallpapers.

The short little snippet of story is inspired by a character in Isaac Asimovs's 'Foundation' books.

a clear colored crystal ship emerging from an open wormhole that resembles psychedelic color tuft cloud formation & around the ship are sunlight prism colored rings in the darkness of space.

Nice! IIRC, the book was the one of the first where Arcady was the 'hero'.

Absolutely GORGEOUS... Seriously. Really. I'm just... I'm breathless. This is wonderful! :wow:

The curves, and swerves, and awe-inspiring swirls - such arcs are my favorite shapes, elegant and unique - but in such open space, against such a breathtaking background - and three moons, too?! You've managed to touch on so many of my favorite things, blend them seamlessly, create this sense of space, and churn them together into something brilliant and natural, with enough imagination and mindscape revelation to make this something SO worth noting and admiring!

In short: I absolutely love it!

Wow... I must have hit a nerve with you. :) Yeah the pic is actually a big experiment. It kinda took me by the hand and lead me into this world much like the viewer is taken by the hand to explore the detail. The only difference is that I saw it first I guess. :D

You certainly did. ^^

Aha, that's the best way to discover art. :D That's how I always feel about my writings; they tend to be so much less "me telling the characters what to do" as "the characters guiding me through the scenes". /^w^\

I bought xenodream last year when I found out it's able to export the fractals into 3d objects. That really allows to explore some exotic landscapes. And that's what I'm always looking for. =) So there may be more fractal related scenes coming soon. :)

The time and work spent on this really shows an eye for detail, a mind for intricately elaborate design and proper usage of the tools to bring it all to life. That, a lone, stands in a field range all by itself. This work is fantastically amazing and offers the viewer a chance to feel like, dually, like they are children again and that they are exploring their own fully grow imagination. Excellent work. Plus, the brief telling of the Arcady tale helps it all out just a little bit more.

Fav'd, as you should know.

Thanks man. =) Yeah the story snippet was one of the first things that came up when I started to work on the pic. I just imagined what an impression such a sight might be. Especially when shown by someone you love and who loves you and wants to support you in any way possible. I realize though that kids normally couldn't care less about the actual beauty of something. But hey... for Arcady it could be the start of a great writing career. =)

Hey, I understand what you mean. That usually takes place with kids of late. But, some of them haven't given up on visual stills and literary work. Some of the uses such as the basis for imaging their own movie to play in the cinema of their mind. It's a coin toss on which will take place. So, definitely do it for that reason. You never know, a kid could grow up and craft a movie or video game inspired by your creation.

And, as you see, other adults still enjoy fantastically created artwork, too. So, you can cover both fields at once. Which, by the by, I feel on are on such a path with this work, here.

Hauptsache man versucht hin und wieder mal was Neues.

Das ist keine Kritik an dir! :manhug:

So viele Ideen...

Ja kenn ich. Sehr gut sogar. =D
