This basically is a side project to a bigger picture im working on. Maybe a quarter of the left side of the full picture. I cropped the area off the big pic and thought the composition and atmosphere looked great. This had to be a pic on its own. This pic gives you a glimpse of how detailed the complete one will be in the end. I still have to do a lot of work on it so it will not be out any time soon. Also have to finish other things off within the next weeks.
The title results of the feeling i have when i look at the pic. I always say i would love to see coruscant (starwars) like cityplanets. But could i live there? I guess it would drive me crazy.
The pic was done with matte painting techniques but i decided to give it a painterly look in the end. So its far away from being photorealistic, which wasn't intended anyway. Rendered in vue desprit and detailed in photoshop.
Wallpapers will be available as soon as the full image was completed. Itll be quite a nice cityscape with some sweet atmospheric lighting going on. Stay tuned!

very cool painting dude.. Im very curious about the rest! anyways.. I think what weasol means is that you use a lot of different light colors? and that can seem very unnatural and weird.. I feel the same way.. but ok there are some other things. A few buildings in the back are too light.. just doesnt look right.. also there isnt any shadow on those buildings in the back.. witch are ok cause they are very far away but then you shouldnt be able to see so mutch detail.. just get some lighting back there. Also the building closest to the sun is extremely red. I would just do that a tone less.. its a bit overdone with the dramatics right now.
anyways just my 2 cents.. nice detailing so far! cant wait to see the final!.. peace!

wow, that's amazing really nice composition too, even though it's a cropped version of the whole piece, it works so well by itself. It's good to see a more close up version of your buildings, really brings it to life
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
