Description

tigaer-design.com proudly presents: stellar dreams - tannhauser gate

this time inspired by the movie 'blade runner'. there's this wonderful ending sequence - people that know the movie surely know what i mean. the pic is based on a little speech that one of the characters speaks at the end of the movie.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe: attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain... Time to die."

one of 'these' moments in movie making history. i love it.

i don't know if there is a region in space that is called tannhauser gate. my search in the net was not successful. so to all you space scientists... if you ever discover a gate-like nebula or nova, then call it tannhauser gate! it's such an impressive name.

what you see here represents one of my hardest works ever.

made with // photoshop cs
working time // ca. 25 hours
total filesize // *.psd with a res. of 4500x3000 (made for print) -> ca. 300mb
total layers // ca. 137
inspired by // blade runner
technique // 50% texturing (with own photography) and 50% handmade within photoshop.

UPDATED PICTURE - removed several faults and touched up a few more things.
don't think that you'll see 'what' ;) - the print has also been updated to deliver best possible quality.

UPDATE #2 - reworked a lightbeam that looked a bit strange and again removed some fault inside the pic. no further changes planned... expect this to be the absolut final version. print has been updated too.

UPDATE #3 - lustre print update and panorama print available

enough talk - happy viewing...

FULLVIEW ESSENTIAL!!!!

PS: thanks ~Blade707 for your little gift. :) // print available // my apologies for the large filesize. // wallpaper pack [link]

This does make some sense, especially given the context of Roy Batty's speech. It makes a little more sense than the Tannhauser Gate being a transport portal or something else of a much smaller scale.
