A just for fun project made with the free program apophysis and completed in photoshop. The piece does not have a deeper meaning. It’s just thought to ‘look’ cool, and i hope it does. ;)

The jpg fomat and compression really kills some detail here unfortunately.

9000×6000 - 20hrs fractal render time - 10hrs ps work - intuos3 - final psd size 1.3gb

yeah apophysis has some great potential. just wish someone would continue to take it to the next step. poor thing still needs some work but gives out great fractals.

I knew instantly thats what this was when i saw it in thumbnail. lol

vllt kriegst du es nicht hin weil das bild im grossen und ganzen garnicht mit ps gemacht wurde. google mal nach 'apophysis'. ist ein open source fractal render program. damit habe ich diese ganzen strahlen etc gemacht. photoshop wurde verwendet um verschiedene apo render zu kombinieren, dem ganzen tiefe zu geben und die farben harmonischer zu definieren.

this project taught me a lot about how to handle the program... and i can tell that i have lots of possible scenes in mind where apo renders could come in quite handy. :nod: but you are right. it's hard to go the next step with something that already looks quite cool.
