this time a more fantasy like piece again. so, as usual, NOT meant to be as realistic as possible. the title speaks for itself i think... i have to admit that i got a little bit inspired from the 'master & commander' movie. even if there were no great landscapes to see in the film. fantastic nature and sea pictures, yes - but no landscapes. but i imagine every ship captain in these old days has had some sort of hideout. to find some rest... new food for the crew etc. the idea with the ship came pretty late, i thought it would be a nice addition to give the pic some sort of story for the background.
stats:
rendered with // terragen ver. 9.xx rendered resolution // 6400x4800 pre-production in terragen // ca. 1 hour rendering time // ca. 20 hours render without post process // not available post process done in // photoshopCS post process time // ca. 10 hours total filesize // *.psd with a res. of 6400x4800 -> 523mb total layers // 24 wallpaper resolution // *.jpg in 1280x1024
I love it. When I look at it, I see several different pictures put together, as if they are all different dimensions. Also, if I'm not mistaken, a ship? Simply beautiful and very interesting. Keep up the good work.

Good Peice. But i think yourve made the cloud layer, too fake. It jsut doesnt look right to me. I know it ment to be mysterious, but the layers could use some work.
Great concept, and nice level of details like usually, but the top left qauter of the image just doesn't look right - i don't mean in a "reality" way, i'm more refering that it seems too busy and chaotic. But that might have been what u were trying to do...so i'll shut up
I really like mountain, tho I see some things that look abit awkward =\
The sort of bridge like thingie, all up the mountain looks abit out of place. An outstanding job neverhteless =]
