D³SCR!PTION

this time i tried to follow an advice by a friend who told me to not overload my pics with details. in my previous pieces i had a lot of details and added more and more. from my point of view they were good for the pieces. but this time i follow the advice to not add too much. what we have here is, again, a fictional scenery on a distant planet somewhere in our universe. the sheer mass of planets and stars out there should make it possible that a scenery like this really exists. ;) i guess everyone who looks at this piece will never see something like this for real... but we still have our imagination, right? :) so please take a look at the pic - then close your eyes and imagine you're inside the scenery. you can see the planet rising on the horizon. you feel the winds that stride through your hair... and you take a deep breath of the fresh clear air. :) if you can imagine this while keeping the pic in mind... i have succeded with my piece.

TECHN!CAL DETA!LS

this time i haven't tried to improve. this time i tried to create a different kind of scenery from my usual stuff. i rendered the pic 2 times with different atmosphere and water settings. i combined the pics in PScs to make them fit to the idea i had in mind. later on i added the big planet - clouds abd particular parts of very early renders of mine. also added various textures to the clouds. the clouds needed the most attention in this one - i'm still not happy but i don't know what else more to do. the terrain was from the net somewhere... and the atmosphere file i got from *hypnotic. though i changed a lot of settings to make them match my ideas... thanks out to *hypnotic.

FULLVIEW ESSENTIAL

ps: after some comments i see what people seem to crit. the most: the planets. if you think they look too much fake, because of positions etc - well, it's all intended and part of the composition.

Spacescene or waterscape? I can't figure out, the blend and motive seems fuzzy. But I know this much, the work put into this, the amount of detail and creativity in Terragen - Silver is truly worthy of a DD. Feast your eyes in the eyecandy from `tigaer. (Featured by `sycho)

Wow excellent job here man, the reflections are unbelievable and really it does look elite when on the desktop due to the high res, it deserves every bit of a fav for the effort put in here! :D

Some great work here, and an orginal look as usual. To me it looks like the main planet could use definitly some more texture work (even just one simple overlay). Terrain on left and smooth reflective water = t3h pwn. Umm, first moon looks excellant, the next one looks a little duped but no biggie..also it seems to me that given its position you should be able to see more surface lighted (almost half even) expecially so its a little different than the first's lighting. The render postwork on the right looks really dodged and sticks out sortof hindering the great composition - I dont understand why the sky to the right of that cloud cover would be glowing yellow when the left is normal (nice mixing of the real clouds in there). Clouds in front of main planet look a little messy and could be harder and more defined...dont think I see anything else that sticks out. Great idea and minimalistic detail work as you said- just some things I think would really perfect the piece.

Dude, my friend. That's kickarse! I totally love the amount of details and surreality of the enviroment and landscape. The motive with the clouds and dark spots look so awesome, and it gives a very unique theme. Especially how the sun peeks out like that.

this planet looks so good. it looks almost real. the reflection looks even better to me. it's improved by the lovely blue water. very well done
:iconb33lz3bub:
what i really love is the reflection. the way everything works so well with the image, the horizon line cutting straight through the middle, creating an almost butterfly image, you know how you paint something in paper, fold it it in half, open and yeah etcetera :slow: - im loving that :D

those planets in the background are beautifull, great job with this, it is so well done  - and your description under it regarding it possibily being a real scene, yeah i completely follow you there, and i love putting myself in the image, you have done a marvelous job putting it across like that

i comment because i think your art is worthy of being critiqued. not cos i whore myself. not cos i care about being returned the favor. cos *you* deserve it. get it through your heads. if you think i deserve something, thats cool too.

Just think that those moons doesn't fit, don't you think tigaer? Looks fake.. and the rest of the scene really real.
Great, great work my friend.

of course these moons don't look that good... i only added them to widen up the composition. the lighting and the position of these moons work really nice to the pic as a whole. at least from my pov. :) thx 4 the comment.
