Vue is your friend! When youre not exactly the most talented painter then Vue really helps you to create a base for your idea. The weird rock formations/mountains were quickly modelled in C4d and imported to Vue. Ecosystems added a plantlife quickly and kaboom its rendered. Then the fun can happen in Photoshop. This painting is, again, some sort of training piece. Basically i wanted to create a strangely familiar, yet exotic, looking place. Its also a different colorpalette. Surely a nice addition to my portfolio. When you check the plate (link beneath the description) you will notice how much work was done in Photoshop. Basically i used digital painting to extend different elements and got me some good photo textures to add the level of detail i wanted. The ships were added late in the process and are completely painting. Now i would love to explore this planet with one of those ships!
I didn't really understand the process part in the comments because I'm not a digital artist, but damn, it worked. This looks like almost some brilliant matte painted environment and I like the way the ships are thrown in to give it that sci fi feel.
I remember when you were drawing those ships by themselves and I am very glad to see them making it into your more complete works now!
the ships are a nice addition to add a sense of scale to these paintings. while i think it all still looks a bit flat... the ships help to add that little extra bit that the pic needs. glad you like it sir. appreciated.
Great work as usual. I've really wanted to test view but I haven't had a lot of time with school lately. And unfortunately I'm not going to school for art
Keep it up though. I always enjoy looking at what you have to dish up. :+faV:
yeah, vue is great in combination with modeling programs. I use it to spice up my school assignments, make the models in 3dsmax, render them in vue with sexy atmospheres and lighting

Anyway, great way of combining your tools!
